Your First 30 Days in doTERRA Now that you’re enrolled, excited and ready to build a thriving doTERRA business, it’s time to consider exactly what you need to do in your first month in doTERRA to get paid.

In doTERRA, there are basically 2 ways to generate a paycheck. They are:

1. Selling Products
2. Sponsoring

Despite the fact that there are several phases to each process, we are going to focus only on those you should do to get paid in the first month of building your doTERRA business.

#1) Selling Products in doTERRA

The day you attended your doTERRA meeting, or were exposed to doTERRA through a video, phone call, or webinar there was obviously something that made you believe in doTERRA and what they were offering.

Whether it was the compensation plan, the products or just the culture, you found something that you felt you could share with people to help impact their lives like yours was improved.

When it comes to sharing your products and gaining customers, your belief, enthusiasm, and passion are a must. However, there are certain criteria that you MUST consider before hurrying off to share doTERRA and their products with the world, these being:

A. What need does your product fill?
B. Who wants what you have to offer and is ready to buy it immediately?
C. Why do they want it? (What benefit will they get from owning and buying your product?)
D. Why should they get it from you?

As convinced as you are about the merits of doTERRA’s products and how everyone will benefit from them, you still should think about the requirements of your potential customers and how their lives will be enhanced from buying this product.

doTERRA is a sales business, and in order to retail as many products as possible, you have to use the sales process, which is:

A. Create rapport with your potential customer
B. Ask questions to establish a need
C. Listen carefully
D. Share how your product will solve their problem
E. Get the commitment and seal the deal

The more friendly you are with your prospects without forcing the sale on them, the more you’ll find them closing themselves on the products just by asking them the right questions and giving them the freedom to talk and explain to you exactly what their hot buttons are that you can sell them on!

#2) Recruiting in doTERRA

The true leverage in building your doTERRA business is in building a team of people who duplicate your efforts, while increasing the output and earnings of your organization. This is sometimes the most hated aspect of the doTERRA business because we often associate the task of recruiting with friends and family that we presume are going to dodge us at the next family event.

Recruiting however, can actually be the most fun part of doTERRA once you “change your thinking” about what team building really is. Even though you have quotas and goals you want to meet so that you can receive a fat paycheck, sponsoring shouldn’t just be viewed as a payday. It’s actually your opportunity to impact and change someone’s life, while offering them a chance to achieve financial independence and a whole new way of living.

There’s so much more to joining doTERRA than just the money. Of course that’s a critical part of why people do join, but there are also the benefits of connecting with like-minded people, improving your personal development and understanding your weaknesses and strengths. There are also chances to go on vacations you never imagined, and even potentially work for yourself full-time, without ever going back to clocking in at a nine to five.

The moment you can learn to understand the benefits of your new “Millionaire Fraternity or Sorority”, you will find that people are dying to go with you to the next event, or get on the next conference call or webinar, just so they can hear from or meet from some of the amazing leaders that you’ve been telling them about.

To recruit effectively in doTERRA, explain the benefits of being united, rather than coaxing them in for a paycheck. They will be able to tell the difference, and you will too when it comes to your doTERRA commissions!
