Many times, when people begin a network marketing career online, one of the first questions they may ask is what is a funded proposal, and why do I need one? The purpose of this post is to help you tie it all together and help you make sense of all the information you have probably been bombarded with since you began the process of promoting your network marketing business online. The first thing that you must realize when you’re promoting your network marketing business is that you MUST have a funded proposal. Why? The average person who gets started in network marketing needs money NOW! True, most MLMs have up-front money to be earned in the form of fast start recruiting bonuses and product sales, but those two by themselves won’t cover the cashflow needed to pay for advertising, pay for web hosting, and pay for autoship. There is also a time delay of up to a month before you get paid commissions for product orders, and that time delay can threaten your liquidity. Read the rest of this entry

I came across a video that is currently making its way around YouTube and is going viral regarding the distribution of wealth in America. It offered a comparison of what Americans think the wealth distribution is vs. what they think it should be vs. what it actually is. The results are very surprising. Most surprising is the fact that the top 1% hold more wealth than 90% of those surveyed believe the top 20% SHOULD hold. Read the rest of this entry

Today we’re going to talk about cheap ways to get leads in your local market. Before you start implementing any of these marketing strategies, it’s crucial that you set up a free Google Voice number to use strictly for voicemail purposes. You will be getting calls all throughout the day and night, so it’s best that all calls are directed to voicemail. This way you can designate a block of time to call your leads one after another and remain in control of your time. The whole purpose of the voicemail is for your leads to leave their name, phone number, and email. It is a lead collection tool only. The voicemail is not used to sell, presell, or give any information about your business or your products. The more you reveal, the more you will satisfy their curiosity, and the less likely it is they will leave their info. Remember, curiosity causes people to take action. A voicemail message that works well for me is:
“Thank you for responding to our advertising campaign. Please leave your name, your address, your telephone number, and your email address, and one of our representatives will contact you just as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day”
That’s it. Say any more and you risk your conversion rate going down. Instead of having a phone number in your advertising, you can also direct them to a squeeze page. I hope you have a squeeze page by now, and are not sending people to your company-replicated website. With that said, let’s get into the 5 cheapskate ways to get leads in your local market:

In part 1 of How to Promote Your Blog – a Systematic Approach, I listed the 3 main reasons that most people in our industry who are trying to brand themselves with a blog are struggling to get traffic and comments.
I then laid out Phase 1 of a systematic approach to blogging, that being the development of an Initial Blog Promotion Strategy.
Phase 1 is where you setup the communication channels between your blog and various websites and services that will automatically or semi-automatically get your content out to your target audience (ping list, rss feed and blog directories, social bookmarks, blog broadcast emails through your autoresponder).
In this post we’re going to look at Phase 2 of the process of how to promote your blog, that being the development of an Ongoing Blog Promotion Strategy. Read the rest of this entry

An old prospect contacted me recently to tell me about this awesome opportunity she was involved in and how it was internet marketing and how it was something I needed to look at. However, when I clicked on her links and looked at what she was doing, I was appalled. All she had was a website, and she called that internet marketing because she was posting her links on Facebook.
It’s what led me to write this article today. It’s not that this prospect didn’t really grasp the true concept of internet marketing, but she went on to try to show off her knowledge but got caught red-handed. I want to make it cut and dry for any reader of this article:
It is not about having a website and that’s it. That’s like wielding a knife and calling yourself a chef. It’s not that simple. It’s about starting with an idea, creating an offer, capturing leads, entertaining prospects, and getting traffic that converts into cash.
A lot of network marketers are going to be disappointed about this article. They are going to argue that what they do on Facebook IS the proper usage of the term. Now, if you are generating serious retail from your Facebook fan page, and from your friends and people you know buying your product, then that’s great and all. However, that’s just one tiny piece of the grand scheme of internet marketing. Read the rest of this entry
